Ziti

ZITI or ZITONI, originates from the regions of Campania and Sicily. It is a long tube pasta similar to bucatini but much wider. It is often referred to as ‘ziti lunghi’.

Although ziti is found as medium-sized tubes, ziti is actually 25 cm long (9.8 inches). It is often broken into 3 or four pieces – but why? Perhaps to be more manageable for even cooking or perhaps out of familial tradition. Ziti is a very versatile pasta and can be cooked whole or broken, depending on your chosen dish.

Ziti is best served with rich and robust sauces, baked or boiled, it is a perfect pasta for making large dishes to feed the whole family.
