Lasagna

LASAGNA is the widest of all the ribbon pasta. The largest type of lasagna sheets are called lasagnette.

Lasagna is believed to be the oldest type of pasta. The oldest record about lasagna appeared in the Bolognese Memorials (Memoriali Bolognesi), in 1282. The first recorded recipe appears some time later in the early 14th century.

Typically, a lasagna dish in Italy, has a minimum of 5 layers of lasagna. These layers can be separated by anything you choose. Cheese, meats and hearty ragù-type sauces.
