Our tomato pasta flowers are made using durum wheat flower and all natural tomato powder. Using tomato powder enables The Pasta Maker to add more flavour and colour. The reason we don’t use tomato purée to create the dough is because the acid in the tomato seems to react with the pasta dough and the usual firm texture, breaks down.
We also create our tomato pasta flowers using sun dried tomato power which gives the dough a rich and less red colouring as well as a nicely sweet and intense flavour.
Each of our tomato are handmade completely from scratch. YEP! That means from flour to flower. The process is a long one so we ask that you place your orders and inquiries well in advance.
